Easter

The Easter season is upon us, it happens to be my favorite time of year. I love celebrating what Christ sacrificed and reaching the children on just how much God loves everyone.

My children are working on putting together a short play of sorts, starting this week for Palm Sunday and finishing on Easter Sunday.

I want to thank each and everyone of you for the prayers you give us and the support. We are truly blessed!

Easter in Uganda is celebrated much like America. We go to church and then eat, eat and eat some more.

I would like to take this opportunity to ask you to please consider donating to Easter Sunday's festivities. We would like to be able to prepare a nice meal for the children, sodas and have some Easter pinatas.

Please keep the children in your prayers!

Blessings to All!!!

PRAY

Michaela went to the bank today for me, and has lost her wallet and my debit card, please please pray, that was the last of our money til Randy gets paid. I know in this country that it would absolutely be a God miracle if someone would give it back but we can all pray together and see what God does!!!!

UPDATE!!!!

When we went looking for Michaelas wallet, It was right after a rain, so I came back home and asked Emma to please go swish all the puddles with his rain boots in case it fell in a puddle. Some school children told Emma to come here that they had picked up the wallet, but some other lady took it from them. They directed Emma to her house and he retrieved the wallet!!!! The wallet had everything still inside, of course it was missing some money, not all but some, and the debit card was still there, Praising God for those children and His blessings today!!! Michaela was very very upset and now is relieved and much better, things were shaky here for a time! Thank you for praying with us!

Pictures and More

Thanks to an awesome couple that are visiting the children now have some great bottles to use for water, etc. We thank them so very much!!!

Here are some pics of our babies! They are so wonderful!

Here are some pictures of the land again, the fence builders actually put up the gate today!!!
Our next steps is to finish putting in the poles then actually adding the fence. We are asking again if you would please consider donating to the fence because the chain link is going to cost anywhere from 4000-5000 and we do not have that at this point, we are completely trusting in God that the funds will arrive so that HCU can take one step closer to becoming self sufficient.
Please join us in praying that the fence gets funded.

Blessings to all

HCU Land, Mitimbojje

We have many projects planned for HCU's land in the village. We own 3 acres in the village, we grow maize, cassava, potatoes, bananas, and much more food. There are fruit trees as well, mango, jack fruit etc. But We have a problem though, the villagers steal our food, potatoes peeled right in our garden, and bananas mysteriously missing, jack fruit stolen always, the children have not had a jack fruit off their land since we bought the place. We would be able to add a cow for milk and turkeys as well.

The projects we have planned are chickens, we want to sell eggs for an income, and above ground fishing.

Our friends in the Netherlands, Alkare, is doing fund raising for HCU's first chicken house that will hold 1,000 chickens, we are hoping to eventually get to 6 houses.

The above ground fish project is very little investment with great rewards.

So now is the time that we must get the land fenced. Randy and I have given of our own money to start getting poles, 400 poles, cement, sand, rocks etc.. We will still need metal gates, nails, chain link, barbed wire (for the loops around the whole land, security) and labor costs.

Please join us in praying that this extremely necessary need is met, building self sustainability will not be possible without the fence.

This is how post holes are dug in Uganda, then they scoop dirt out by hand. Very long and tedious process!!

Look at how nice everything is looking!

We cannot stress enough how important the fence has become!
For those receiving tax refunds, would you consider giving a portion to our fence?

If we do not get a fence, then the villagers will escalate to stealing our chickens and fish and all our efforts will be for nothing.

We have also had a new arrival at HCU he is a great child, and should hopefully only be here temporarily

Our goats in the village also had a new arrival a couple days ago!!!

Thank you all for praying for HCU!
I am hoping to get back into the swing of blogging but things have been crazy around here lately!

Blessings

CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Thanks to many wonderful donors, HCU had an absolutely wonderful Christmas!!!!!
Thanks to Alkare Europe, Judy, Little Bee Company, and many others!!!!
The children so appreciate the love and caring you are showing them.

For Christmas, the children received a projector, so we can have movie nights, that they can enjoy for many many years to come now!

The children also were able to get many many sweeties in the form of a pinata, they had such a fabulous time!!!!!

We also were able to have some storage finally made so that each child has their own space for storing their clothes and items that are theirs. This is an awesome design that was sent to us by one of our FB friends, and love it!!!! The units are fantastic and have so many good attributes to them!

They were all very happy to have a place for their things.

We also set aside some of the Christmas money so that next time the market comes to town we can take the children and let them help pick out some clothes for themselves. If we have any Christmas money left after market, then we are thinking of taking them on an outing to the zoo or something of that type.

Thank you to everyone that played a part in Christmas!!!
Blessings to all

Update on all Happenings HCU

Monday Sarah was admitted into the hospital, she was swelling in her extremities. I spent 2 days searching for a different hospital for her to be transferred to and found a great one just 2 days ago and am now comfortable that she is receiving great care!!! Praise God! if you want to donate to her care please put Sarah in memo line, her bills are going to be extensive.

We are doing a Christmas fund raiser for the children. We are building them cubbies so that they have a place to put their personal items! What a blessing these are going to be! We also want to get a projector so we can have movie night in the compound! The children will be so excited!

It was with bittersweetness that Shadia was transferred to an HIV orphanage, we are going to miss her but know that the care she is going to get there is much better for her than here in MItyana. Thank you so very much to Our Own Home, Jinja We will be going to visit her soon!

Update on George and Sarah

Thank you all for praying for George, unfortunately the Lord decided to take him home yesterday.

With the help of a couple donors we are only $25.00 away from paying all of his bills. Thank you all!

Please pray for us as we prepare to go to the village and bury this sweet and precious child.

Sarah is sick as well, she is at the doctors in Kampala today. Please pray that she responds to treatment! They both caught a bad virus.

We are going to need help with her bills as well,

God could not keep moving without all of your help Thank you again!

Blessings
